All About the Millers: Putting in Lawn

Well, this post is just about our little family. You can see a full update on our family blog, of course (link to the right), but I want to give a house tour one of these days as a post. So here's a precursor to that: Outside!

We just put in a bunch of sod in the front, so we finally have grass!

Doesn't it look nice? It is looking even better after a week of water! So green and pretty!!

Can't wait to play on it!

All About Elise: Traveling

I absolutely LOVE to travel! I have done quite a bit of traveling in my past, with all sorts of different people:

Several years ago, I toured around Germany with my mother. The next year, we went to the UK:

And Turkey:

As well as Paris. We did that trip shortly before Cadence was born, so I haven't been on a lot of major jaunts since becoming a mom myself.

Brandon and I have also traveled a lot. We like to go to Badger football games, like this one in Fresno, CA, with my brother (he was in LA at the time):

We also went to the East Coast to see baseball games (New York, Maryland, and DC). Here we are in LA watching baseball:

We've even made some more "local" trips around the Idaho and Utah area. My grandma lives in SLC area, so we've visited there a lot, and also to see Cadence's birth mom (she lives in that area as well). Here we are before Cadence was born seeing the temple in SLC:

Last year in January some of my old friends from High School/Middle School were having a "mini" reunion in Arizona, so I went down for a weekend. We did a spa and lots of hiking. Here we are (I'm at the back) during our hike of Camelback Mountain:

And we have plans, too! Brandon and I really want to go somewhere tropical. We're thinking the Caribbean or Costa Rica! Look how gorgeous it is!

But that's just a dream right now. We DO have plans to go to San Francisco in two weeks, though! Super exciting!

Nothing New....

No new post this week about us... but that's only because we are furiously working on all our adoption paperwork, which has taken all our free time. I figure it's a fair trade--so hopefully we'll have new snippets on us starting next weekend!

All About Brandon: Hunting and Fishing

Brandon is an avid hunter and fisher. He especially likes to hunt ducks and geese and to fish for steel-head on the salmon river. It's been a hobby of his for years.

 Almost every year of his life he has gone to the annual Fisherman's Breakfast in St. Anthony, which is on opening fishing day each year:

 For Christmas in 2010, he got a really cool new duck blind, which he likes a lot. Can you spot him?

He definitely wants to share his hobby with his family... here we are floating the Snake River in northeastern Idaho. Brandon did some fishing, but we girls just enjoyed the scenery (and made sure the babies didn't fall out).
